Along with Karol’s prom shoot from yesterday’s blog, some of her classmates from Van Nuys High School messaged me about Prom photos as well. We met up with Melissa and her friends at Balboa Lake before they went to their prom. Here are some of my favoret images from their shoot.

The Hunger Games- Mara & Brandon

The Hunger Games is not only a great book and fun movie, but we took it to a different place in our hearts. As soon as the movie came out our friends Michelle and Randy of Meesh Photography came up with the idea of doing a Hunger Game themed engagement shoot. This last Saturday it all came together. Our hair and makeup looked fantastic with the help of Mandy Karsenti. She did an amazing job with making our Katniss come alive. Our very lovely models Mara Manukyan and her boyfriend Brandon Killby did an amazing job giving us the chemistry that we needed to bring this story book couple to life.

A special “Thank you” goes out to Michelle and Randy Hoffman at Meesh Photography. Without their idea, this photo shoot would never have happened. I got to meet a great new makeup artist and a young couple. Thank you to all for making this shoot memorable and fun.

Happy Birthday Adrian

Adrian turns three years old today. It’s amazing how fast kids grow up. In the Delgado Family, it is tradition that when a boy turns three years old he has his own photo shoot with the traditional Hispanic clothing. Adrian had all the ladies saying “What a cute outfit.” and “What a cute little boy. Can I take a photo?” It was a bit overwhelming for him. Even though he never went too far from his father’s side, but after a while he loosened up a bit and let us get some cute shots. Happy Birthday Adrian.

Paola & Erik

Last Saturday the rain cleared up just in time for Paola and Erik’s wedding. They got married with a few close family and friends. Their intimate and very cute wedding made me remember what weddings are all about. It being with the people that mean the most to you and sharing that special day with them. Congratulations Paola and Erik!

Easter Bunnies

We have watched little Jessica Rose grow up alongside our photography for the last three years. The moment Jessica sees us, she makes herself a model and transforms before our eyes. Last weekend her cousin Bailey joined her in their Easter best clothing for a fun cousin shoot. The girls had fun and we got some amazing shots.

Tim & Grace Hanson

Last Sunday was Tim & Grace’s wedding at the San Fernando Mission. I have worked with couples before and seen some beautiful weddings, but the love between Tim & Grace was radiating throughout the day. Right from the start of the day Grace was smiling from ear to ear and was absolutely stunning. Her mother would tear up every time she looked at Grace for too long.

When Grace took her first steps in the church and Tim saw her for the first time, he started to cry. This made everyone else in the church fill up with the same emotion. The two of them could not keep their eyes off each other. The moment they exited the church, I got a few shots of them as they smiled. Tim would often look down at his new ring, smile and then glance up at Grace when she was talking to someone else.

When it was time to play music and cut loose, Tim and Grace were so much fun to capture shots of. Grace’s father was with her in memory and her uncle stepped in to dance with her (even Tepe and myself got emotional). She closed her eyes and took everything in and I could tell she was picturing her father being with her at that moment. The highlight of the night was just after the cake cutting when Grace grabbed the microphone and sang. Tim’s eyes filled up with tears of joy and just as she finished singing, he kissed her so passionately.

To Mr. & Mrs. Hanson, you both are a beautiful couple. Tepe and I are blessed to have captured the moments for you. Looking back on your special day, I am reminded why we both love what we do. Here are some of my favorite images.

Hair Styles With Diana

I met Diana two years ago when shooting her sister Danielle’s wedding. We have been friends ever since. She is starting out in the hair and makeup world and asked me to capture some shots for her portfolio. She got some friends together to help her out with the models and makeup. The final images came out great. I can’t wait to shoot her wedding late next year. It’s going to be beautiful.

Caitie Bauer, a fan on our Facebook page, messaged us about wanting to try her hand in modeling. I am always want to try new things, so we went out to Santa Monica (my favored place to shoot) and we captured some great shots.
